I was driving down Fairview Avenue looking for a Starbucks, when I found this: So I decided to grab a closer look... One photo couldn't contain this much rice, so I had to stitch two pictures together to see the whole thing. I especially love the high-quality rice job with the front clip and rear valance. Rather than remove the stock parts and hang the replacements correctly, they just used hex head machine screws to install everything. I missed the Monster Garage episode where Jessie James explained the art of hand-shearing plastic/fiberglass parts and the whole "wavy-line" screw attachment technique. The exhaust cutouts with no exhaust pipes make for a nice touch, too. --- I know Lotus used to say their goal was "Performance Through Light Weight", but I don't think this is what they had in mind: True, this old Integra weighs less without wheels, but I have a feeling the friction nullifies that advantage. --- While we're at it, what's wrong with this picture? It's not rice, but... ...Yes, that's a spoiler on that car. Yes it's too small for the car. Oh yeah, it's also on BACKWARD! A too small, backward spoiler on an elderly person's car? I may have seen everything... As seen on the Eastern Bypass. I just love lawnmower handles on front wheel drive cars... Oh, and it's about 3 inches wider than the entire car. Nice... University Drive at AUM. I honestly have to admit that the donut wheel looks better than the ones the owner chose. What is that anyway, a snowflake? It's Alabama, we don't get too much of that around here. What used to be a 3rd Generation Accord, on Atlanta Highway. Note the double lawnmower handle, and massive deposit of soot on the rear of the car. Lexus at the Sturbridge Winn Dixie. I wonder what all that extra wheel weight does to the drivetrain? Jed holds up a DVD for size comparison.
Did you know they made a Geo Metro convertible? Neither did I. Not really rice, but the decal on the side nearly qualifies it. Oh, and this thing is TINY! I guess circus clowns like to drop the top once in a while, too.
